DRIFT: SUBTLE ENEMY OF THE HEART
"And How to Stay Anchored in a Rudderless World”
with Dr. Johnny Parker
Have you ever experienced a time in your life in which you sensed you were drifting spiritually? It happens to all of us, sooner or later. Thus the Bible encourages us to "pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it" (Hebrews 2:1).
This series, with live presentations from Dr. Johnny Parker, examines the nature of spiritual drift, a subtle and often imperceptible process that slowly pulls the heart away from what is most essential.
Using the powerful imagery of a ship losing its anchor, you will learn to identify the common currents that lead to drift, such as busyness, misplaced affections, and the temptations of the world. This series will equip you with practical tools to recognize the signs of drift, strengthen your spiritual foundation, and re-anchor your heart to the unwavering truth and presence of God. You will discover how to cultivate resilience, stay intentional in your faith, and navigate life’s inevitable storms without losing your footing.
Topics to be covered include:
1. What causes my soul to drift?
2. The signs of drift.
3. Re-aligning your soul.
4. Staying tethered to who and what matters most.
